CUSTOM MATERIAL RACKS

Material racks and ladder racks have evolved though you may not have noticed. Many of these racks are made of 2"x2" tubing or even 2"x3" tubing in some cases and are so much stronger and weather resistant than they were even 25 years ago. Powder coating has become a desirable option to insure that the nooks and crannies that can easily be missed in normal painting operations is covered due to the electrical charge and fine spray of the powder.

Racks come in common standardized designs and yet there are so many companies or jobbers who need to carry something special and need a specially designed rack to take care of that need. We can build racks to any specification you may need. Below are some examples of different racks that we've done.

This is a standardized forklift loadable rack on single rear wheel crew cab chassis with an 8' Knapheide Service Body with Telescopic Sliding Roof (TSR). A forklift loadable rack has the cross bars higher than the side bars to allow the load to be left on the cross bars while the forklift can exit the rack area. This is certainly a back and labor savor!

Custom tapered leg material rack on flatbed with tapered headboard. This particular unit is welded to the body and becomes a permanent part of the flatbed. This is a pretty common rack design and available in forklift and non-forklift loadable versions.

This rack design is very common on a Contractor Body. It is a 12' forklift loadable HD removable rack mounted on an HD truck chassis. This entire bed is manufactured by Knapheide for Cal Work Trucks specifications.

This is a custom designed rack assembly for a service body with a liftgate and is perfect for carrying a few gas bottles or heavy drums and this is a great way to protect the truck body, cab and also have a place to lash the cargo to.

This is a custom made rack that is designed to be used with a crane. It has a removable section that has quick release pins to be able to use the crane and have it turn and not hit the rack. Many times a crane is only used once in a while, but the rack might be used quite often.

Also note that this rack is mounted on the inside top edge of the service body and this design rack can handle more weight because of where it is mounted being a very strong point on the body, but also due to the full length angle iron spreading the weight across the entire length of the body.

This is a flat mount ladder rack mounted on curbside of Knapheide 8' Service body with a Telescopic Sliding Roof (TSR) and Master Locking System. Sometimes these are tilted to carry the ladder at an angle for easier loading and unloading. This design makes it easy and safe to carry a long ladder and the posts allows for tie down points.

This is a custom rack assembly mounted on 8' Knapheide Service Body with 10" Raised Telescopic Sliding Roof (TSR) mounted on a single rear wheel extended cab uplevel chassis. This rack has end posts but no longs or over the bed area cross members. This design is for a specific need.

Close-up of forklift loadable rack wtih window guard installed. Rear window breakage is very common on commercial used trucks, so this option can save a lot of money and hassle.

This is a custom rack mounted on steel Dump Body with a front and rear section only and no connection between the sections. This would be for carrying very long items but probably only occasionally.

HD custom rack mounted on Knapheide KUV Enclosed Service Body with Rack-Strap tie down ratchet assemblies. This is a non-forklift loadable rack.
